Healthwatch Oldham 100: Digital Health Findings

We have produced an infographic to show our initial findings of the recent Healthwatch Oldham 100 Survey on Digital Health.

Our second survey of 2020 was related to digital health. We wanted to better understand how you use technology to help support your health and wellbeing.

We have produced this infographic to show our initial findings and plan to produce more in the coming weeks with the rich information provided by you.

At a glance:

76 people completed the survey and they said:

  • 86% of those that completed the survey use a smartphone to assist their health and wellbeing
  • 41% of those that completed the survey use a computer to assist their health and wellbeing
  • 37% use an app to order their repeat prescriptions
  • 84% of those that completed the survey Have not had an online consultation
    • 54% wasn’t aware that they could have one
    • 20% don’t know how to have an online consultation
  • 58% do not use Patient Access
    • 40% of those wasn’t aware of Patient Access
    • 20% do not know how to use it
  • 82% of those that completed the survey have used NHS.uk
    • 41% have used it to check health symptoms
    • 41% have used it for general health information
  • 76% of those that completed the survey do not have any concerns over the increase of technology in helping them maintain their health and wellbeing
    • 57% of the 18 people who did have concerns stated it was due to data protection issues
