Healthwatch Oldham Manager - Tamoor Tariq

My last role was with Lancashire BME Network (Infrastructure/ Membership based organisation) as Senior Project Officer, responsible for all operational aspects of project delivery across the Lancashire footprint. For the last 10 years, I have served as an elected councillor in Bury holding a number of positions including, Deputy Cabinet Member for Health & Wellbeing, Cabinet Member for Communities, and currently as Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Children Services, Skills and Young People. I have been fortunate in the past to hold a sub-regional role as Chair of the Greater Manchester Police and Crime Panel working closely with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester.

Being part of Healthwatch Oldham and Action Together allows us to play an important role in ensuring the patient's voice is at the heart of all health and social care services. There has never been a more pivotal time to ensure the patient's voice is heard, Covid-19 and the BLM movement have shone a light on the critical health inequalities that are prevalent across society. The time is now to mark a new beginning in ensuring the patient experience and voice is at the heart of service delivery and service redesign.
