Sustainable Enterprise - Craft-work/Woodwork

The Craft workshop is now a busy manufacturing site producing bird boxes, hedgehog dens and bat boxes for the local Council Park Management team.  They are producing a range of garden planters to our customer’s specific requests and it is a challenge keeping up with the demand.

Animation

During the week, the Boathouse hosts, animation sessions developing creative skills and using state of the art photography and Apple IT equipment.  These skills combined, enable the individual to produce very impressive video clips which can be viewed on the Pure Innovations website.

Media studies

Media sessions are now focusing on producing a weekly newsletter to inform visitors how much the community is working together and providing a quality service from the much loved Café in the Park.

Catering and Hospitality

Many Pure Innovations clients work in the operational café gaining skills in Customer service, front of house, food preparation, cash handling, food and personal hygiene,  general housekeeping and café etiquette.  All these skills are practised and encourage by a dedicated CSW with teaching and learning background. Skills are introduced that will enable them to adapt in other situations and possibly employment in the future.

Community Learning

This group is encouraged to develop independent skills, such as travelling around, getting to know and access local facilities, learning more about the area where they live, environmental issues and socialising.  This encourages team work, planning, decision making, tolerance and generally learning to work with others.

Gardening Hub

The Gardening hub at Alexandra Park is where clients and the general public can pickup growing tips and learn to cultivates their own produce.

Craft Studies

The recent introduction of a Craft session has been welcomed.  Various activity involving card making, decorations and textile work will be operating throughout the year and work to wards many of the significant national celebrations that take place.
